And here are the culprits that incited me to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war upon the smoke detector—freshly lifted Red Duke of York potatoes. All that lovely, potato-scented steam sent the detector off in a frenzy, but not for much longer.
Home-made sausages, warm first early tatties, pickled baby carrots and freshly picked salad with home-made herb vinaigrette. And all the better for being cooked largely in silence. Mmmm.

What lovely looking spuds! The whole meal looks tasty, hope it was worth it.
Those spuds look amazing, and the meal, as a whole, has me in a hissy fit of envy…
I miss tatties, (and Scotland) just not the same here!
loved your review of the kangaroo btw
Mmmmm. Potatoes.
My husband constantly makes fun of my love for spuds. I tell him it’s part of my Scots heritage (I’m a McGaw).
mmmmmmmm Stonehead sausages, tatties and salad.
