The Land Rover Defender is coming up for its MoT in six weeks time, so I thought I’d better do something about the sharp, jagged shards of rust masquerading as the front passenger door sill. It’s a particularly daft piece of design, even by Land Rover Standards, as the sill is simply a piece of steel plate with a rolled top, spot welded to the steel frame underneath. Water gets trapped between the two pieces of metal, which aren’t painted or protected in any way where they touch, and rust is inevitable. But, I have a solution…
