The ‘Wombats’ pay a visit
9 05 2008I’ve run out of time to blog tonight as we have visitors and have been busy with them, as well as doing the usual work.
We’ve been showing Mr and Mrs Wombat, as they’re known on the Selfsufficientish forum, around the croft and feeding them up with our home-grown food.
They’re visiting from Australia and have been staying with and visiting quite a few of us Ishers, with more to be seen over the rest of their visit.
It’s one of the great things about the Ish forum—it’s a wide network of like-minded people who are quite happy to help and support each other no matter how far apart we are in the real world.
So while we’d never met Mr and Mrs Wombat in person before, we’re all able to sit down, relax and have a good natter as if we’ve been friends for years—which we have, just not in person.
We took the Wombats across the road to see the Stonehead Circle, after which the croft is named. Tomorrow, we’ll take them up Dunnideer hill for a picnic and to see the stones, hill fort and castle remains there.

I think that’s awesome, we’re finding lots of similar people through our new lifestyle, everyone is willing to learn, share knowledge and work, and laughs. We love it. I’ve seen the Wombats on ALS forum and SSish a few times. Good people.
How nice! I hope you are enjoying yourself.
Thanks for posting that link. I never knew about that forum. I can’t wait to start reading it.
Take care. I hope your wife has a Happy Mothers Day as well.
