Delilah farrowing

I was walking through the byre this evening, on my way to feed the pigs, and was talking to Delilah, our expectant Berkshire sow, when she suddenly spasmed, looked surprised and then deliverd a piglet.
I encouraged her to lie down, and after doing so she delivered another two piglets.
She’s now up to six, all alive.
I’m supposed to be going to the Big Lad’s Swimming Up Ceremony in 15 minutes, when he goes from Beavers to Cubs, but I’m not sure if I can leave her.
(If I knew the ceremony would be quick I could go, but these things tend to drag on.)
And there’s still dinner to do!
Anyway, back to work.
oooooo the children will be chuffed to see them when we come up!

Wow, Cubs, that’s very cool, Big Lad, hope you enjoy it as much as your Pa did when he was a little lad.
