We only supply friends now. It was too much hassle supplying "consumers" who wanted their every whim and desire catered for, instantly. It was like dealing with very young children.

People could collect from us, collect from the butcher, or have it delivered if they lived in the area bounded by Huntley, Alford, Inverurie and Old Meldrum. If they opted for delivery, it might be a couple of days between the meat being ready and being delivered depending on when we were passing by (meat obviously kept in a freezer until delivery).

Do you ship out (without the trendy box, obviously!), or do you do collection only?

That's about Aus$10.80 per kilogram. I found a couple of Australian suppliers of boxed, butchered half pigs and they were asking Aus$200 a box (20kg). Not much difference.

People here would love the opportunity to buy quality free-range pork for your prices, around 5pounds a kilo.
Free range pork is highly sought after in Oz. My friends with their freerange Berkshire pigs had their first stall selling sausages in Sydney last weekend at a Food and Wine Expo, they were disbelieving when the organisers told them to charge $8 per Sausage. They were amazed(and thrilled) when they sold 800 sausages in 4 1/2 hours! I'm glad they're good friends and we supply them with our fruit windfalls,so we don't have to hand over that sort of dough.
I would love to produce free-range chicken and eggs on a large(ish) scale, but that will have to wait till we have our own place and some capital.
