Even when it’s wet, windy and overcast, nature is still capable of delivering amazing sunrises and sunsets. This morning, I’d just shrugged my boilersuit on when the light coming through to the back hall changed colour. I popped through to the sun porch, saw this sunrise, raced upstairs and snapped off a couple of photos from the skylights. A few seconds later and it was gone. A magnificent sliver of sunrise that few would have noticed.

i love moments like that, beautiful.
You just can’t beat it. I have spent the early hours of many night shifts when I am not otherwise engaged, sat on a hill watching the sun come up, sometimes over low mist in the valley, itis truly stunning. There is a short time when the light from the sun plays little miracles before it rises and then itis lost forever.
This time of year is among my favourites. Dawn is nicely timed so that I can go out early, have enough light to work by, and then catch the sunrise just as I finish the chores. It’s also fresh and cold, without being too cold, plus there’s a good chance of sunshine at least two days a week. Perfect.
