Two years with WordPress

Yes, two years of history

I was looking through a few things in the blog stats just now, when I suddenly realised I’ve been with WordPress for two years. Well, actually it’s two years and two months, but I hadn’t noticed before today. I’d tried a couple of other blog hosts before moving to WordPress and had various personal websites over the years before that, but two years is the longest I’ve stuck with anyone for a blog or a personal website. WordPress must be okay for me to have stayed that long, so thanks to the team for providing a good, stable platform for me to blog on. A thanks also to the blog’s readers who’ve taken it from 400 page views a month at the start to 30,414 a month in January this year. I wonder how long this can last…

There were also a few rat droppings, despite there being baits laid on the opposite of this wall and in the hayshed at the opposite end of the byre. The first job was to thoroughly wet the floor and walls, then scrub them clean with heavy duty detergent.

Ready to go to hospital
The Wee ‘Un was helping in the front garden today, leaned forward to pick something up and toppled into the stone wall. The Other Half heard a loud thump, but initially it didn’t seem too bad as the Wee ‘Un was muttering imprecations to himself and was not unduly upset. Investigation revealed a lot of blood coming from a flap of skin so Pa was called with the magic box (aka the first aid kit). I held a pad firmly on the gash while the Other Half washed her hands, then she took over holding the pad while I cleaned my hands and put on disposable sterile gloves as I didn’t want stray garden dirt getting in the wound.
