Day’s end
13 02 2008There’s nothing quite like going to the top of the hill at the end of a long day and watching the sun set behind the mountains. Even if it is a very chilly evening.
This is my favourite moment, although it’s a difficult one to catch on camera. There are some days, usually in winter, when atmospheric conditions are perfect and just as darkness falls there’s a final, glorious burst of light along the horizon. Even more rarely, it flashes green but this wasn’t one of those days. It’s still spectacular though.
Now, it’s the turn of the moon to rule the skies and for me to come in for a big bowl of corn and potato chowder with a large chunk of soda bread. Yes, I’m ever practical.

WordPress is grindingly slow tonight, so I’m leaving it that. Hopefully, I’ll get the other posts on here tomorrow.
How heartstoppingly beautiful…I’d hazard a guess that for all the trials and tribulations of crofting, the images above show one very good reason why you persevere…Stating the obvious maybe, but that is one amazing sunset…
I think you might find this link pretty cute, baby piglet born with heart shaped spots, and named Valentine.

And it’s a rare breed too.
And that’s a typical clear day sunset. We get some that are far, far more awesomely beautiful than that.
I actually said to the Other Half last night, people will find it hard to believe this is an average sunset.
Is that last night? If so that’s not fair at all - the haar came in to town about half three and didn’t go away until after I struggled to cycle home…
Your sunsets are better than mine, and I think mine are pretty good. My picture is of one of the many we get, taken last year.
I too had problem with WordPress and loading pictures yesterday.
