Weaner boars for sale

Most of the weaners are a good size
We have three birth-notified Berkshire weaner boars still to be sold. Two are from Doris’s litter and one from Dolores, and all are a good size (we’re keeping the runt in the foreground for ourselves). Berkshires are an early maturing traditional breed that produce very high quality pork. Ours are bred from pedigree stock, have good temperaments and are easily handled.
Weaners from Doris’s litter
No gilts are available from either litter as we have buyers lined up for all six. However, we’re happy to put people on the waiting list. Prices remain at £45 each for birth-notified weaners aged nine to 10 weeks, with no discounts for larger numbers and no haggling. There are no weaners suitable for pedigree breeding remaining from these litters.
 Feeding time
As some prospective buyers express doubts about buying boars, the facts are that boars grow slightly faster than gilts, they are sent for slaughter between 22 and 28 weeks so boar taint is not a problem, and they are not aggressive, especially at these ages. Inquisitive and friendly, yes; aggressive, no. Also, nature being what it is we cannot breed all-gilt litters so buyers who take boars are likely to get them sooner than people who want only gilts.

Two of our buyers have definitely agreed to go through with their orders. Phew!

One potential buyer still hasn’t returned our calls, but it’s not a huge problem as the number of gilts and boars work better without him.

Anyway, we still have those three boars to sell.
