Another barrow load of muck on its way to the field
The field occupied by the pigs over the summer will be put down to potatoes, mangels and jerusalem artichokes next year. But first, it needs to be fertilised and ploughed. Both jobs were supposed to have been done six weeks ago but my broken collarbone and the neighbour’s broken tractor intervened. As our neighbour is now planning to do the work whenever the ground is soft enough to plough between cold spells, that means I have to get the well-rotted muck out on the field as soon as possible.
