Making cards

The boys get to work on their cards

The boys enjoy making cards for special occasions so when we came across a couple of packs of DIY Father Christmas cards in a supermarket sale, they were very excited and asked if they could have these instead of blank card. I agreed and tonight they set to work on the cards, taking them far beyond what the manufacturers intended.

The Big Lad get stuck in

In the Big Lad’s hands, a feather dyed green becomes a Christmas tree, some cotton wool becomes Father Christmas’ beard or a pile of snow, and a handful of sequins become stars.

The boys with some of their work

The Wee ‘Un is equally creative and after an hour’s work, they had 10 cards ready to send to friends and relatives. (And yes, that’s a home-made Christmas tree decorating the wall behind them.)

Some of the boys’ cards

The cards include Father Christmas in the snow, in the forest, in his dressing gown ready for bed and with a towel wrapped around him as he’s just got out of the bath. (The gown and towel were cut from an old tea towel.) I think the cards will get a good laugh from everyone who gets one.

Those cards are wonderful, you have two very creative boys. It’s so lovely to see children who can think and do for themselves and not been sucked into the ‘entertain me’ way of life.

Big Lad & Wee ‘Un, those are some of the nicest Christmas cards I’ve seen this year. Well Done.
