4lb of green tomatoes were the inspiration

When Diana visited last week to give us a hand, she kindly stripped our tomato vines of 4lb of green tomatoes. They’ve been sitting in a bowl, waiting for me to get my act together and turn them into something. So, today I decided to make a large batch of spicy green tomato chutney.

I was lucky, another cyclist wasn’t

A popular and well-known Yorkshire cyclist was killed on Saturday when his bike and a white Ford Transit collided on the A1.

Teacher Peter Smith, 54, was measuring a route for a time trial near Markham Moor in North Nottinghamshire when he was hit by the van.

Coming within a fortnight of my own run-in with Ford Transit, it shows yet again how vulnerable cyclists are to cars, vans and trucks. Read the rest of this entry »
