Halfpint by name, but not by nature

Halfpint is less than half the size of most of his siblings

Meet Halfpint, the smallest of Doris’s litter and the last to be farrowed. He took a lot of effort to remove from the uterus, was not breathing when delivered, and took a lot of resuscitating to revive him. But while he may be a Halfpint by name, he’s not by nature. When all the other piglets have retired beneath the heat lamp to sleep, he’s still latched on to a nipple and suckling hard. When forced to quit because Doris has had enough, he’s always first back when she lies down again. Here’s to you Halfpint!
