Meet Halfpint, the smallest of Doris’s litter and the last to be farrowed. He took a lot of effort to remove from the uterus, was not breathing when delivered, and took a lot of resuscitating to revive him. But while he may be a Halfpint by name, he’s not by nature. When all the other piglets have retired beneath the heat lamp to sleep, he’s still latched on to a nipple and suckling hard. When forced to quit because Doris has had enough, he’s always first back when she lies down again. Here’s to you Halfpint!
