Happy birthday

The boys and I really indulged the Other Half today as it was her birthday. While she enjoyed her book, couple of CDs, new radio for the Defender (yes, really for her as she’s the one that likes to sing along as she drives) and box of chocolates, what she really, really liked was being able to lounge on the sofa in the snug for hours with said book, listening to said music, eating said chocolates, drinking hot chocolate with a dash of coffee and doing nothing much! The boys also made her several superb birthday cards.

Then, we served up some of the OH’s favourite Thai food - home-made but yes, one of the few occasions when we splash on shop-bought ingredients when the OH gets to turn pescetarian and drink “real” wine. So, we had deep fried vegetables and prawns with sweet chilli sauce, then the OH had green curry with prawns while the boys and I had green curry with chicken. A nice bottle of Riesling went down well with the Thai food. And for a final indulgence - chocolate cake of course. Happy birthday!
