Spreading muck - by hand
10 10 2007
To grow a good crop of potatoes, you need muck and lots of it - especially when you’re planning to grow tatties on a field scale. Every year we collect the pig manure and straw when various pigs are brought inside for farrowing, sale or veterinary treatment; the chicken manure and wood shavings from the hen houses; and grass clippings from around the croft, mix them all up together and stack the muck in five one-cubic metre muck boxes.
