Introduction to pigs

24 08 2007

We’re often asked if we can help people get started with pigs in Scotland, but while we’re more than happy to show people what we do we haven’t the time or resources to do anything more.

However, our favourite pig supplies people, the Bidgiemire Pig Company, relocated to Scotland from England earlier this year and are again offering their introduction to pigs courses.

Graham and Linda are very nice people, are very knowledgeable about pigs and their customer service is second to none so we have no hesitation in recommending them as either a good starting point for new pig keepers or as suppliers for more established pig keepers.

And no, I’m not getting anything for saying this. It’s more in the nature of a community service announcement while also supporting an excellent small business.

Details of their courses and other offerings can be found at the Bidgiemire Pig Company.

As I’m starting again with pigs soon (used to spend student summers on a commercial pig farm) I headed over to the website for a look. It’s worth mentioning that if you purchase one of their Carberry Arks before December you can either get 10% off or attend the 1 day course free. Think this will be my route!
