One of the consequences of writing a blog about a life that involves a fair amount of making do is that people often think I have the solution to just about any problem to do with being self-sufficient, keeping livestock, growing vegetables, making things and, as I was asked today, reducing electricity consumption.
I was asked how easy it would be to do without refrigeration - and rather fortunately it’s something I have considered a few times.
We could certainly do without a refrigerator in many circumstances, especially if we were in a position to shop daily or every other day with no need to store perishables for longer. Read the rest of this entry »
