Rain at last

When I got up at 5.30 this morning I was delighted to look out the back door and find that rain was falling.

After a dry winter with little snow and with it being six weeks since the last light shower, the sight, smell and feel of steady rain was very welcome.

The rain has continued for the past six hours. It’s not heavy, just the steady rain that’s needed to moisten the soil and refill all the water butts, which are all empty, without causing flooding.
