Long day, short post

We were up early today as we had a long day of work planned for the vegetable patch and so it proved, with the last chores and tidy up only finished just after 7pm.

All up, I’d say we did about 10 hours actual work as we continued our preparations for spring planting.

We cleared away the straw mulch from the last of the over-wintered vegetables (mainly carrots and parsnips, plus some turnips); lifted the remaining vegetables; cleaned, diced, blanched and froze the vegetables; dug two large beds and then prepared them for planting out (weeding, stone removal, hoeing, raking in lime), and weeded the paths and borders between the beds.
