Twice a year we do a massive clean-up around the croft as, despite our constant efforts to keep things reasonably tidy, the combined efforts of weather, animals, small boys and lack of time means the place looks like the farm of Ma and Pa Feral.
With the Other Half lined up for a four-day break, we decided what more enjoyable way to pass the time than to give the croft an early spring clean.
The first job was to collect up all the off-cuts of timber and logs that constantly migrate away from their various piles and scatter themselves about the steading.
