The Kangaroo arrives
12 12 2006The Winther Kangaroo trike arrived today - two days earlier than expected, an impressive result as it’s sent directly from the Danish factory.
We won’t be assembling the Kangaroo for a day or two, but I’ll do a full pictorial post on how we do it and any problems we find.
In the meantime though, I have to say the packaging was good while the build quality of the Kangaroo itself is excellent.

“Wow, Pa, the box is humongous! How are we going to get on a bike that big?

Oops! The box is supposed to be opened with the wheels on the floor. The manual does tell you this, but it’s hidden away in the Kangaroo’s passenger compartment under loads of parts.

“Come on, Pa, I want to go for a ride!”

“Pull!” Actually, some care is needed when rolling the Kangaroo out of the box so as to avoid damaging the front forks or chipping the paint. The front forks need to be lifted slightly and the bike slowly pushed or pulled out.

Never mind the trike, if they’re anything like mine your boys are going to have great fun playing with that box.
The two shallow cardboard caps that fitted on each end have already been claimed for use as pirate ships.
I agree with Mel, the box is the best part, imagination can run wild with a box that size.
All the best with the pedalling folks. I want to see a photo with OH on the seat and a load of excited boys urging her to “pedal harder mum”.
Poppy (down under)
Not much chance of that! The deal is that the OH sells her car and gets mine, I lose my car and pedal the trike, and the boys get the free ride!
The OH does have a bike (and used to ride it work some years back) but it’s rather neglected now. Still, I’m trying to persuade her to get it fixed up so she can join us for rides - I’ll still be the one with passengers though.
And OH, I know you’re reading this, so “on yer bike!”
