Polluted minds

While I was mucking out Delilah, our expecting in-pig gilt, today I was also thinking about the post I wrote earlier this year, Treat the cause, not the system and some comments that Mel made.

In my post, I argued that the root cause of global warming was modern, global consumerism. I said we had to shed the illusion and ditch the habit.

Then Mel replied yesterday to say that people “can never be happy because capitalism can only operate by making us continually dissatisfied (which is the reason for fashion, to force us to buy new clothes, new music, new home decor, new garden plants etc. every season)”.
