Return of the carrot hunter!
10 11 2006
I was making a lamb casserole for dinner when I realised I was short of carrots. The Big Lad volunteered to go and get them. It was a big expedition in the dark for him as he had to go out of the steading, up the hill beside the road, in the gate and along the path, and then through another gate into the darkest part of the vegetable patch. With his torch, high-visibility jacket (for the road), wellies and Davy Crockett hat, he set off into the dark and soon returned in triumph with his trophies - three very large carrots.

It is the tasks that the boys are doing that makes me very proud to be their Pop.
A job like picking carrots at night and on your own must make The Big Lad very proud of himself. Then look at the size of the carrots, they are beauties and would have gone down well in the casserole folks.
Well done Big Lad, what a brave lad!
If they taste as good as the carrots you gave me, the meal would have been scrummy
