Alarming weakening in Gulf Stream
27 10 2006Many scientists have criticised the disaster film The Day After Tomorrow for suggesting that global warming could shut down the Gulf Stream in a very short space of time, leading to a catastrophic cooling of northern Europe and America.
Now I’d agree that much of the film was Hollywood hype combined with bad science but evidence has now emerged that the Gulf Stream did, in fact, shut down for 10 days in November 2004.
