Rain, rain and still more rain

We’ve just been hit by an absolutely torrential downpour that saw our empty 200-litre water butts filled to overflowing in less than five minutes!

The water was flowing in torrents through the steading, the gutters were overflowing, the roads turned into streams and many of the plants in the vegetable patch were flattened.

The pigs in the byre were flooded out of their freshly cleaned pen and had to be moved into the smaller pen while we mopped out the big one (we’ll leave it to dry until tomorrow).
