To say that I was shocked and surprised that Nestle have been allowed to use the Fairtrade mark on one of their products is an understatement
This is a company that has been the target of activists for decades - firstly for its intense marketing of baby foods and formula milk in the third world countries and secondly for its massive exploitation of poor farmers in those same countries.
The company has been subjected to a long-term boycott of its products and yet the Fairtrade organisation has now given Nestle permission to use its mark on one of their products. Read the rest of this entry »
